Google is working on a new Google Tasks Web sidebar UI / Digital Information World

It’s been four months since Tasks for both Apple’s iOS and Android operating devices received updates from tech giant Google. The new update would let users shift from one list to the other more conveniently. And now it seems like a similar update will soon be rolled out on different platforms, such as Google’s Gmail, Documents, and other similar applications holding the Google Taskbar in their sidebar.

In a recent blog posted by the company itself, which was based on productivity tips, a screen shot was shared showing the new user interface for the web sidebar on tasks. The most notable change in the new interface is that every list of tasks will be available on the main feed of the user. However, only one list will be visible at a single time. In order to go through another list, the users will be required to shift themselves through a drop-down from the top left of the screen.

This new feature is considered to be more accessible than the tab system. Instead of focusing on multiple tasks at a single time, the user can control the content being displayed on the screen and can easily concentrate on the most important one. Another change that has been observed is that “Add a task” has now been replaced with “Add a list.” In addition to this, the position of this has also been shifted from being at the start of the feed display to now being present at the top of every list. A shortcut for creating a list has also been placed at the end of the feed.

Other than this, a new tab has been added as well. The main function of this new tab in the interface will be that it will save the user the time it takes to find the specific task list among others, as the new tab will hold only those lists of tasks that the user has selected personally. However, this new update has not been rolled out on mobile phone applications yet and might be a step taken by the company to ensure that users get what they need without spending a lot of time on it. The new UI has yet to be officially announced by Google. As of now, it can’t be expected how much time it will take for the update to be released.
